Information You Send
Names, phone numbers, and addresses entered into a search form are sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Our servers do not retain a copy of those searches. If you contact us, we receive the information in your message and use it to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Our host may create routine server logs, including IP address, browser type, visited pages, and timestamps. We review aggregated activity to maintain the service and understand use patterns. Cookies or similar tools can support basic measurement and, where used, advertising measurement.
How We Use It
We use this limited information to operate the service, resolve technical issues, measure traffic, and improve the reference material. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Services
County and state record portals, library collections, archives, and search providers linked here operate under their own privacy practices. Their rules apply to information submitted on their pages. The same is true of sponsored search results supplied by another company.
When Data Is Shared
Hosting and support providers process server-log information for us. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose information only when valid legal process requires it or as otherwise stated in this policy.
Safeguards
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes described above. No account system exists here, so we do not maintain visitor passwords or account profiles.
Visitors Under 18
This reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor supplied information, and we will remove it.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask a website for access, correction, or deletion of personal data it retains. Because this service keeps very little, a request normally involves reviewing the contact mailbox and relevant logs, then removing applicable information. Use the Contact page to make a request. New York public records held by a state, county, town, or court custodian are outside our control. Public Officers Law Article 6, the state FOIL framework, does not provide a general removal process for those records; contact the custodian about a specific record.
Policy Revisions
We will post any revision to this policy here. Continued use after a revision means you accept the updated terms.
